How we perform car paint protection on the car?

There are various steps which are involved in car paint protection.

1. Inspect the car

We will first inspect your car to see if it is a good candidate for paint protection. We will look for the condition of the paint. The paint should be in good condition with no major scratches or chips. If the paint is in poor condition, it may not be a good candidate for paint protection but we will advice for paint correction first.

Or if your car has any major scratches or chips, or if you live in an area with very harsh driving conditions, you may want to consider other options, such as a ceramic coating.

2. Cleaning Car surface

After inspecting the car, the next thing we will do is cleaning the surface of the car thoroughly without leaving any trace of dust, dirt on the car body. This is important for the proper bonding of glass on the body.

Here are the steps on how we will clean the car surface before applying paint protection film:

  1. Washing the car with a mild soap and water solution – We will use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth to scrub the car, and I will rinse it thoroughly with water.
  2. Isopropyl alcohol solution to degrease the car – This will remove any waxes, sealants, or other contaminants that could interfere with the adhesion of the paint protection film.
  3. Clay bar to remove any contaminants that the alcohol solution did not remove – The clay bar will act like a magnet, attracting and removing any dirt, dust, or other particles that are stuck to the paint.
  4. We will then use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the car and remove any remaining residue.

3. Apply glass coat / paint protection film

After washing and cleaning we will apply glass coating on the car body. We use sprayers to do this step.

Here are the steps on how we will apply paint protection film to your car:

  1. Measure and cut the paint protection film to the correct size – We will use a plotter to cut the film, ensuring that it is perfectly aligned.
  2. Apply a slip solution to the car’s surface – This will help the film to slide around and prevent it from sticking to the car too early.
  3. Place the film on the car’s surface and smooth it out with a squeegee – We will use a combination of overlapping strokes to remove any air bubbles or wrinkles.
  4. Heat gun to activate the adhesive on the film – This will help the film to bond to the car’s surface.
  5. Trim off any excess film – We will use a sharp blade to cut the film as close to the car’s surface as possible.

4. Leaving to Dry and Cure

Once the film is applied, We will let it cure for 24 hours. Once the film has cured, your car will be protected from rock chips, scratches, and other damage.
